Joan Miro born in Barcelona,1893

1912-1915- Miro takes influence from Cezanne and Cubism.

“The Farm” 1921 (purchased by Ernest Hemmingway)

1920-1925- Miro moves to Paris and meets the Surrealist group, which includes Pablo Picasso.

“Harlequin´s Carnival” 1924-25

Miro begins to abstract and distort his figurative images and create surrealistic works.

“Peinture Collage” 1933

1926-1930s, Miro begins to work with collage, collaborating with Max Ernst for a Russian patron.

“Dutch Interior” 1928

In 1929 Miro marries Pilar Juncosa in Palma de Mallorca.


“Still life with old shoe” 1937

Miro begins his series of constellation paintings, which reflect his fascination with Catalan cave paintings. 1940-1950s.
